ORATS
Start here if you want options research / backtesting / scanning software (Intraday Backtester, Otto AI, scanners, Trade Builder) with Trading Tools Individual $99 a month or Professional $199 per user a month, optional broker order-send to Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, or Tradier. Skip if you need a free full-seat week, a flow-tape-first product, verified Canadian-listed coverage, or Data API access inside the Trading Tools seat (API is a separate catalog).

Pricing

Verdict
ORATS (Option Research and Technology Services) is browser software for options research, backtesting, and scanning, with optional broker order-send. Official pages at orats.com, orats.com/trading-tools, orats.com/otto, and orats.com/intraday-backtester describe an all-in-one Trading Tools seat: real-time data, Intraday Backtester, Otto AI agent, Strategy Optimizer, Trade Ideas, Option Scanner, Options Backtester, Stock Scanner, Trading, Ticker Analysis, Trade Builder, and connect to Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, and Tradier. ORATS is not a broker, not a live unusual-options flow tape product, and not a source of investment advice.
Authoritative Trading Tools dollars (trading-tools, also Otto + Intraday Backtester FAQs, captured 2026-09-09):
| Plan | Monthly |
|---|---|
| Individual | $99 a month |
| Professional | $199 per user a month |
Same platform tools on both seats. Professional is billed per user. Does not include Data API. Separate checkout URL beyond trading-tools was not captured: offers point there.
24-hour refund (Otto / Intraday FAQ). Cancel within 24 hours of signup → automatic full refund. We did not invent a multi-day free trial, a $0 full-seat week, or annual Trading Tools list prices.
Separate catalogs (do not conflate). Data API and historical file products (near-eod-data, one-minute-data) are priced and sold separately from Trading Tools. See the Data API & historical section below.
This is a directory listing of analysis / research software, not a brokerage comparison, not a signal service, and not financial advice. Backtests are reports on the past, not forecasts. Scanners, Otto outputs, and Trade Ideas are research inputs, not trades to copy. Do not treat this page as a how-to for placing trades.
We are not saying ORATS is the best options backtester, the best scanner, or the best purchase. We do not invent star ratings. We are not saying it will make a strategy profitable.
Best for
- Options research / backtesting / scanning as a daily software seat. Official Trading Tools surfaces center the Options Backtester (including Intraday / 0DTE mode on 1-minute data), Option and Stock scanners, Strategy Optimizer, Trade Ideas, Trade Builder, Ticker Analysis, and Otto AI: from $99 a month Individual.
- Traders who want optional order-send from the platform. Vendor claims connect to Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, and Tradier, plus paper trading accounts for testing. Confirm fills and permissions with your broker.
- Professional seats when you need per-user billing at $199 per user a month for the same tool set.
- A short cancel window instead of a free trial week. Otto / Intraday FAQ: cancel within 24 hours of signup for an automatic full refund.
- Builders who later need programmatic data: knowing up front that Data API is a separate catalog (from $199 a month Delayed on data-api capture) and is not inside Trading Tools.
That is a fit for traders who want research / backtest / scan software (with optional order-send) as an input. It is not a claim that any plan improves results. Scanners here are general research filters. For a dedicated workflow, see screening iron condors.
Skip if
- You assumed Trading Tools includes the Data API. It does not. Official trading-tools copy: Trading Tools does not include access to the ORATS Data API.
- You want ORATS to be the broker. It is not. Named connects are optional order-send partners, not custody or a Canadian-broker comparison.
- You want a live unusual-options-flow tape as the primary job. Tape-first peers include Unusual Whales, Cheddar Flow, and FlowAlgo. This page does not rank them.
- Your primary job is dealer-positioning / GEX levels or a payoff visualizer. Levels neighbor: SpotGamma. Plan table: SpotGamma pricing. Visualizer neighbor: OptionStrat. A formula calculator is a different job: OptionVue’s free Black-Scholes calculator. Different jobs, not a ranking.
- You need verified Canadian-listed options coverage or a named Canadian broker integration. Both remain unverified: see Canada note.
- You assumed a free full-seat week or invented annual Trading Tools stickers. Published on-ramp we cite is the 24-hour automatic full-refund window on Otto / Intraday FAQ copy, not a multi-day $0 trial.
What you get at each price
Source of truth for Trading Tools dollars: orats.com/trading-tools (also Otto and Intraday Backtester FAQ pricing blocks): captured 2026-09-09.
| Plan | Monthly | Pricing URL |
|---|---|---|
| Trading Tools Individual | $99 a month | trading-tools |
| Trading Tools Professional | $199 per user a month | trading-tools |
Also on official Trading Tools / Otto / Intraday pages (feature claims, not dollar claims beyond the table):
- Included on both seats (vendor list). Real-time data; Intraday Backtester; Otto AI Agent; Strategy Optimizer; Trade Ideas; Option Scanner; Options Backtester; Stock Scanner; Trading; Ticker Analysis; Trade Builder; connect to Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, and Tradier; 2,000 backtests a month.
- Does not include Data API. Programmatic access is sold on data-api.
- Backtester story (vendor). Browse precomputed backtests or run custom tests; historical data claimed back to 2007 for 5,000+ stocks; Intraday mode for 0DTE-style tests on 1-minute data (vendor: back to October 2020 on Intraday Backtester pages). Each backtest: returns graph, performance metrics, monthly returns table, trade log.
- Otto (vendor). AI agent inside the dashboard (Anthropic Claude per Otto page); runs platform tools / paper trades; does not send live orders: live sends stay with you. Not financial advice per Otto FAQ. For a wider map, see AI assistants for trading research.
- Refund window. Cancel within 24 hours of signup → automatic full refund (Otto / Intraday FAQ). Longer cancel / refund rules on terms-conditions may differ after that window: confirm before you pay.
- No annual Trading Tools list prices published on the pages we used for this capture. Do not invent yearly stickers.
Prices change. Confirm the total before you pay. This directory does not sell ORATS and has no affiliate URL. The CTA on this page goes to the official homepage: orats.com. We may earn a commission later if a tracked link is added; none is wired today.
Data API & historical (separate catalogs)
Do not mix these dollars into the Trading Tools offers above. Primary review seat remains Trading Tools.
Data API (orats.com/data-api, captured 2026-09-09)
| Plan | Monthly | Vendor notes |
|---|---|---|
| Delayed Data API | $199 a month | 20k requests |
| Live Data API | $299 a month | 100k requests; live agreements after signup |
| Live Intraday API | $599 a month | 1M requests |
| All-In API | $899 a month | Bundles Live Intraday + Tools APIs; vendor claims $1,395 a month bought separately |
All-In vendor copy names Tools API surfaces bundled in: Option Scanner API, Backtest Finder API, Intraday Backtester API, Time & Sales API. Standalone Tools API add-on dollars cited with the All-In / data-api catalog (Chief capture): scanner $99, backtest finder $99, intraday backtester API $299, time & sales $299: mention only in this API section; they are not Trading Tools seats.
Institution / redistribution / shared-colleague use: custom quote (data-api). Prefer data-api for the main API table. If you later read orats.com/ai-agents, treat any agent-token ladder there as a separate surface, not a replacement for the data-api table above.
Historical file data (separate)
| Product | Recurring | One-time historical | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Near EOD | $99 a month | $599 | near-eod-data |
| 1-min intraday | $199 a month | $1,500 (+ possible S3 $1k to $2k) | one-minute-data |
Near EOD: snapshot ~14 minutes before close; 5,000+ symbols; history claimed from 2007; recurring via FTP; one-time historical via AWS S3 (vendor: ~14-day download window). One-minute: history claimed from Aug 2020; vendor notes ~50TB and separate S3 storage/transfer costs.
How it works
- Research / scan. Use Option Scanner, Stock Scanner, Trade Ideas, and Ticker Analysis on real-time data (Trading Tools seat).
- Backtest. Run end-of-day or Intraday (0DTE-style) backtests; browse precomputed libraries; review metrics and trade logs. Cap: 2,000 backtests a month on the published Trading Tools include list.
- Build / optional send. Trade Builder and Trading surfaces; connect IB / TradeStation / Tradier to send orders, or use paper trading. Otto can stage paper trades and tickets: live sends stay with you.
- Optional data products. Buy Data API and/or historical files separately if you need programmatic or bulk file access, not included in Trading Tools.
Pros and cons
Sourced from official trading-tools / Otto / Intraday / data-api / historical pages named under Verified features. We do not invent affiliate programs or annual Trading Tools stickers.
Pros
- Clear Trading Tools retail ladder: Individual $99 a month, Professional $199 per user a month, with the same named platform tool set.
- Product job is explicit: research / backtesting / scanning software with optional broker order-send, not sold here as a flow tape.
- Otto and Intraday Backtester are included in Trading Tools (vendor), with a published 24-hour automatic full-refund window on those FAQs.
- Data API and historical file catalogs are published separately with concrete dollars: easy to budget without conflating seats.
- Named broker connects (IB, TradeStation, Tradier) and paper trading are documented on Trading Tools pages.
Cons
- Not a broker; Canadian-listed coverage and named Canadian-broker integrations unverified.
- Trading Tools does not include Data API: easy to assume wrongly.
- No multi-day free trial published on the pages we used; refund window is 24 hours.
- No annual Trading Tools list prices on the capture sources: confirm any yearly deal in-account if offered later.
- No FTT affiliate URL yet: CTAs go to the official homepage.

ORATS is research / backtest / scan software first. SpotGamma is levels / dealer-positioning first. Unusual Whales, Cheddar Flow, and FlowAlgo are live unusual-options tape products first. OptionStrat is a visualizer / builder first. None of those rows is a recommendation to switch, and none is a claim that ORATS wins the job.

Canada note
This directory is written with readers in Canada as well as the United States.
Canadian-listed coverage unverified. Official Trading Tools and Data API pages we reviewed emphasize US equity options (stocks, ETFs, indexes) and OPRA-style US options data stories. We did not find an official statement that Canadian-listed options (TSX equities, Montréal Exchange options, CDRs, and similar) are supported. Canadian-listed coverage is unverified.
Canadian broker compatibility. Official Trading Tools pages name Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, and Tradier for order-send, not as a Canadian-broker matrix. We found no official ORATS page that lists Canadian brokers, Questrade, Wealthsimple, TD Direct Investing, or Interactive Brokers Canada as integrated execution partners. Named Canadian-broker integrations are unverified. Many people use research software in one tab and a broker in another: that is two separate products, not a verified Canadian integration.
Currency (CAD vs USD), registered-account constraints (TFSA, RRSP), and Canadian tax treatment of options are outside this review.

FAQ
- Is ORATS a broker?
- No. This directory lists ORATS as options research, backtesting, and scanning software. Official Trading Tools pages describe real-time data, Intraday Backtester, Otto AI, Strategy Optimizer, Trade Ideas, Option Scanner, Options Backtester, Stock Scanner, Trading, Ticker Analysis, Trade Builder, and optional order-send to Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, and Tradier, not account opening or cash custody. ORATS is not a broker comparison on this site. Broker connect is vendor-claimed order-send from the platform; confirm fills and account setup with your broker. Do not treat this page as a how-to for placing trades.
- Which plan should I pick / is there a trial?
- Primary seat for this review is Trading Tools (orats.com/trading-tools, captured 2026-09-09): Individual $99 a month or Professional $199 per user a month: same platform tools; Professional is priced per user. Prefer Individual for a single research / backtest / scan seat with real-time data, Intraday Backtester, Otto AI, Strategy Optimizer, Trade Ideas, Option Scanner, Options Backtester, Stock Scanner, Trading, Ticker Analysis, Trade Builder, broker connect (IB / TradeStation / Tradier), and 2,000 backtests a month. Prefer Professional when you need the same tools billed per user. Trading Tools does NOT include Data API. Otto and Intraday Backtester FAQs: cancel within 24 hours of signup for an automatic full refund. We did not invent a longer free trial or annual Trading Tools list prices. Data API and historical file products are separate catalogs: see body.
- Does it work in Canada?
- As analysis software in a browser, you can attempt to open the site from Canada. Official Trading Tools and Data API pages we reviewed emphasize US equity options (stocks, ETFs, indexes) and named US-style broker connects (Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, Tradier). We did not find an official statement that Canadian-listed options (TSX equities, Montréal Exchange options, CDRs, and similar) are supported. Canadian-listed coverage is unverified. We found no official ORATS page that lists Canadian brokers, Questrade, Wealthsimple, TD Direct Investing, or Interactive Brokers Canada as integrated execution partners. Named Canadian-broker integrations are unverified. Currency (CAD vs USD), registered-account constraints (TFSA, RRSP), and Canadian tax treatment of options are outside this review.
- How is this different from SpotGamma, Unusual Whales, or OptionStrat?
- ORATS’s public product story is options research / backtesting / scanning software (plus optional broker order-send and a separate Data API / historical-file catalog). SpotGamma markets dealer-positioning / GEX-levels research. Unusual Whales, Cheddar Flow, and FlowAlgo market themselves primarily as live unusual-options-flow tape products. OptionStrat’s public story is a strategy visualizer / builder. This page does not rank them.
