Tools for scanning unusual options flow
Watch large or unusual options prints as a research input, not as a signal to copy.
Unusual options flow software lists options trades that look large, aggressive, or otherwise unusual compared with typical activity. Feeds often include premium, size, sweep versus block, and filters for calls, puts, expirations, and tickers.
This is market activity software. A large print is not a recommendation. Flow products market “smart money”; we do not. Copying a print is not a strategy, and this directory does not claim that flow scanning improves returns.
Use this job if you want a tape of unusual options activity to investigate on a chart or in a payoff tool. Do not use it as a substitute for understanding the structure you would actually trade.
How to use this list
Pick by fit: free or trial on-ramp, tape-only versus a broader suite, monthly dollars you can confirm on the vendor page. A listing is a job match, not a ranking. Prices below come from each tool’s verified offers on the FTT review. Confirm on the vendor site before you pay.
The grid at the bottom of this page is the catalog membership for this job. The numbered section is the eight live flow reviews we expanded for this update.
Tools for this job
1. Unusual Whales
Full-tape style unusual options flow on US-listed underlyings, with dark-pool, politician-trade, and Greek-exposure modules on the same site. Free is $0 (options flow 2 trading days late). Paid dashboard seats in frontmatter: Retail Basic $50, Retail Pro $75, Retail Max $120 (USD/mo). Fits people who want a free delayed look, then a live full tape plus suite extras. Skip if you need a broker, a verified Canadian-listed chain, or a pure payoff diagram as the main job.
2. Cheddar Flow
Curated live unusual-options tape with filters, unusual volume, and historical views on Standard; Pro adds dark pool, gamma exposure, and Power Alerts. Verified offers: Standard $85, Professional $99, Pro Annual $75 a month billed annual (USD). Standard is the usual 7-day trial path into paid; Pro and Annual cards we reviewed had no trial. Fits traders who want a live tape first and optional Pro context later. Skip if you need a permanent free delayed plan or a charting / payoff product as the primary seat. Plan table: Cheddar Flow pricing.
3. FlowAlgo
All-inclusive paid US options-flow tape with equity block / dark-pool prints, filters, levels, voice alerts, and chatroom on the same plan family. Verified offers: Monthly $149 after the two-week on-ramp; Quarterly $129 a month billed quarterly; Annual $99 a month billed annually. Fits people who already expect to pay for a single bundled seat and want longer-billing discounts. Skip if you assumed a $0 delayed tape or a free trial with no charge during the on-ramp. Plan table: FlowAlgo pricing.
4. Tradytics
Flow plus a wider retail analytics suite (scanners, Discord, mobile). Free Basic Access is $0 (delayed / limited sample on the free seat). Full Pro Access $69/mo; Discord Server Owners $199/mo for bots on your own server. Fits people who want a free sample, then live flow inside a broader toolkit — or a separate Discord-bot seat for a community. Skip if Free Basic sounded like a live full tape, or if you only wanted Discord bots and thought Pro alone covered server-owner bots.
5. Quant Data
US options order-flow dashboard with dealer-exposure and heat-map tooling on the same Standard seat. Verified offers: Standard Monthly $74.99; Standard Annual $62.50/mo billed annually. Fits traders who want live flow and exposure context together, with a published 7-day trial on the Standard cards. Skip if you need a permanent free dashboard, Professional-plan dollars without logging in, or the separate API seat bundled into Standard.
6. BlackBoxStocks
Live options flow with dark-pool and equity-scanner layers, plus rooms / Discord on higher seats. Monthly offers in frontmatter: Options Basic $59, Options Plus $79, Equities Plus $89, Equities & Options Premium $149. Annual checkout totals also exist in frontmatter ($566.40 / $758.40 / $854.40 / $1,430.40); treat those as yearly bills, not monthly cards. Fits people who want flow plus scanners / community on one paid seat. Skip if you need a free-forever plan, or if Stripe checkout on the day you buy disagrees with a marketing promo card.
7. InsiderFinance
Unusual options flow and dark-pool dashboard with an all-inclusive paid plan family. Free sample $0 (homepage sample: recent trades delayed). Paid offers: Monthly $75; Quarterly $195; Annual $660. Fits traders who want a delayed free look, then one paid seat that bundles flow with the listed extras. Skip if you need a verified live free tape or a broker integration as the product.
8. MoveSurge
News-first product: curated market-news tape with measured price reactions, plus a public options-flow board on the same site. Not a pure flow firehose. Verified offers: Free preview $0; promo monthly $19.99 as shown in frontmatter. Fits people who want headlines and reaction context with optional flow beside the news. Skip if you want a dedicated full-tape flow scanner as the only job.
9. Bullflow
US unusual-options flow with Net GEX levels on Basic; Premium adds Bullflow Terminal, dark-pool prints, and advanced GEX maps. Verified offers (pricing-page plan objects, 2026-09-25): Basic $39/mo or $33/mo yearly; Premium $69/mo or $59/mo yearly; Data API $129/mo or $99/mo yearly. Fits traders who want a lower-ticket live flow + Net GEX seat, then Premium when dark pool / Terminal matter. Skip if you need a permanent free delayed tape, a published free-trial length you can confirm on the marketing cards, or verified Canadian-listed coverage. Our Bullflow links are affiliate links. Related jobs / adjacent (not the same job)
These help next to flow. They are not substitutes for a dedicated unusual-options tape unless the review says they also carry a flow surface.
- Market Chameleon: Browser options analytics (unusual volume, IV, earnings screens, multi-leg lookup). Not a live full-tape peer. See also study IV surfaces and visualize an options payoff.
- OptionStrat — Payoff diagrams first; unusual-flow feed is an extra job on some seats. Primary collection: visualize an options payoff.
- Option Samurai: Strategy scanner with unusual-volume views, IV tools, and P/L charts: screening and structure work more than a firehose tape.
- Barchart — Charts, screeners, and options statistics pages that include unusual-activity views. Charting / screening home: chart and screen stocks.
- Profit Builders — Real-time US options-flow scanner with GEX heatmap seats. Tagged for this job in the catalog; still separate from dealer-positioning research products below.
- SpotGamma: Dealer-positioning / GEX-levels research. Adjacent context for study IV surfaces and trade 0DTE: not a flow scanner.
- MenthorQ — Gamma levels, Q-Score, and dashboard education. Same caution: levels / gamma maps, not an unusual-options tape.
Canadian readers: public flow products are typically OPRA / US-exchange feeds. Canadian-listed options coverage is unverified for each tool unless a review says otherwise.
Also covered: Scan dark-pool prints
Dark-pool scanning software lists off-exchange or privately negotiated equity prints (and related block / ADF activity) that vendors surface beside or inside an options-flow dashboard. Feeds often include size, price level, delay footnotes, and filters by ticker or notional.
This is market activity software. A large dark-pool print is not a recommendation. Vendors market “smart money” and institutional zones; we do not. Copying a print is not a strategy, and this directory does not claim that dark-pool scanning improves returns.
